The wild botanical ingredients handpicked on the far-flung and storm-ravished islands of Shetland instil its pale green colour and are the very essence of its distinctive character.
The changing climate has a great effect on these distant islands where the North Sea collides with the Atlantic. Pure bracing water, ancient strains of botanicals and the salty tang of sea air are all captured in this superbly smooth gin.
Blackwood’s Vintage Dry Gin is triple-distilled for smoothness and is subtly infused with locally harvested wild botanicals which compliment the other classic ingredients to achieve the creation of a singularly iconic gin.
Dependant on weather conditions and seasonal climate the quantity of these wild botanicals vary from year to year giving each “Vintage” distillation its own unique flavour signature.
Tasting Notes
Clear in appearance with crisp herbaceous notes of the wild botanicals on the nose balanced by floral aromas with hints of fresh sea air.
